Chronic illness means adapting daily. Yesterday, I used a motorized store cart to shop without adding more pain that could have ruined my weekend plans. Typically, I have my groceries delivered or send my husband to pick up what we need. But I REALLY wanted to get out of the house yesterday. Just in case a store scooter wasn't available, we had my wheelchair in the trunk. Why? Because I learned long ago that the best plans have backup plans.
