The timeline itself is printed on a high quality corrugated plastic panels (ones that don't show the lines on it, if that makes sense) and the frame was measured and built so that the printed panels can sit inside. To keep the from bowing out they put high strength double sided tape (3m brand I think) on the edges of the panels.
