Painting “Azules y dorados” is part of the Mediterranean Collection series. On this artwork Mr. Royo wanted to show the model Maria enterteining a day by the Spanish coast of the Balearic Island. The secret cliff location is in Palma de Mallorca, and still remains secret. Azules (blue colours) represents the powerful mediterranean with its variety of colour pallete and the Dorados (golden colours) represents the sun light reflexions and yellowish complements on his artworks. Did you know? When Royo was nine his father, a doctor with a strong interest in art, acknowledged Royo's ability and began to employ private tutors to instruct him in drawing, painting and sculpture. At age 14, Royo enrolled at the San Carlos Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia, continuing lessons privately from the age of 18 with Adolfo Ferrer Amblar.
