My 2nd graders created a Field of Poppies. They used tempera paint for the poppies and watercolor for the grass and colorerd pencils for the implies texture: grass. I had them use a q-tip to place the little "button" flowers. They had to tint two colors of their choice. We've had many compliments on them.
