La Herreria-El Escorial Forest

La Herreria forest is near El Escorial. It is a Pyrenean oak (Quercus pyrenaica) forest of 475 ha. very well preserve. It was protected as Outstanding Landscape in 1961. In the upper part is the Chair of the Phyllip II (Silla de Felipe II), a sit curved into the rock from were the king oversaw the work on his Monastery. It is an outstanding viewpoint.
