Renoir Balalaika Copper Brooch, Ca. 1950s - Etsy

This simply elegant copper brooch depicts a balalaika, a Russian stringed musical instrument. The brooch measures 1 1/8" x 2 3/4". It is signed "Renoir" in script on the back with a copyright symbol, a mark of Renoir of California. The company was active from 1946-1964. Condition is excellent with no issues to note. The rolling bar clasp is secure. You can see an example of similar pieces in the book "Copper Art Jewelry" by Matthew Burkholz and Linda Lichtenberg Kaplan (p. 123).
