Goannas are large carnivorous lizards with over 30 extant species. 25 of which are native to Australia. The largest species (Varanus giganteus) can grow over 2.5 metres in length and is found in the most remote desert regions of the north west. They eat insects, reptiles, small mammals and some species are venomous.

These dragons grow to around 45cm long an live in the north Queensland rainforests.
