Ice Breakers | 15 Awesome Classroom Ideas For Teachers…LOVE this one for the first day of school. Get in a circle, pass the bag of m&ms, each student takes one (without looking in the bag), then tells something about themselves.
This is a great first day/week activity for getting to know students, and they will love it because it involves candy! They randomly choose an M out of the bag, depending on the color they choose they will answer a question about themselves. If some students do not like chocolate you could use Skittles instead. 0642
Use this activity as an ice breaker for the first week of school or as a classroom community builder. I have my students sit in a circle around our carpet, and I project the "Roll a topic" sheet up on the SmartBoard. Each student takes a turn rolling the dice and answering the corresponding question.
I think I might do this as a "getting to know you" activity in September
