Description Sketches for my design of old Hazel from the Watership Down epilogue. Drawing old looking rabbits is difficult because they never really look old. I wanted to stay away from a rabbit that had too many characteristics of a human (like say, Bugs Bunny or Roger Rabbit), and keep my designs closer to that of actual rabbits (in the same vein as the Watership Down animated movie). Old Hazel is thin and bony. He has a hunched back and "tired" looking eyes. His general appearance is more "grey" than that of a younger rabbit. He has a scar on his right hind leg from where he was shot. He also has a piece torn from his right ear which I added as a result of some later injury.
