red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple shapes to match. There's actually two boards for them to work with, but that's only after we're using all the colors together. Make sure each piece of velcro has a solid stick to the board. Eventually, I'm going to color in the shapes with corresponding colors so they can practice both shape matching AND color matching with the same activity.
Sew Fantastic: Rainy Day Fun Printable sheets to laminate, stick magnets onto pompons and place on a cookie sheet. Great activity for practicing sorting and counting! I'm thinking of lots of other ways to use this for my boy who's a little past the numbers-and-colors stage...pompon checkers, perhaps? Or addition/subtraction practice?
