Biblical archaeology; recent discoveries: Rare Crusader coin found in Jaffa. Martin Peilstöcker and Amit Re’em, unearthed an extremely rare coin in the area of Jaffa’s flea market. It dates to the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099-1291), the feudal state created by the first Crusaders.

Catherine I of Courtenay (25 November 1274 – 11 October 1307) was Titular Empress of Constantinople from 1283 to her death in 1307. In 1301, she became the wife of Charles of Valois. Upon her father's death, Catherine inherited his claims to the Latin throne of Constantinople and was recognized as empress by the Latin states in Greece, despite the city having been re-taken by the Empire of Nicaea in 1261.
