Pretty, deep ruby. Looks young. Herbal scents--not sage, but close. Wood and vanilla. Red currants. Something suggestive of root bark. With time, began to suggest fig jam. Later, flinty scents. Rich attack. Full, fruit sweetness. Jam, interlaced with licorice. Remarkably sweet. Suggests vermouth. Light, very soft tannins. Moderate to low acidity. Immediately appealing, but ultimately not well balanced. Worth trying if you like wines that are all fruit. Will certainly appeal to some palates.
