Visconti Hours ~ The Hours of Giangaleazzo Visconti is a Roman-liturgy illuminated Book of Hours that was commissioned by the ruler of Milan, Gian Galeazzo Visconti, in Italy in the late 14th century. The Visconti Hours is the preeminent Italian example of the numerous surviving Books of Hours produced during the late Middle Ages, mainly in countries north of Italy, for the private devotional use of wealthy lay persons.
