Las musas Urania y Calíope - Simon Vouet. En la mitología griega, Urania (en griego ‘celestial’) es la musa de la Astronomía y la Astrología. Según diferentes fuentes es hija de Urano, engendrada sin madre o de Zeus y Mnemósine. Urania es la madre de Lino, cuyo padre era Apolo. Es la menor de todas las musas. Calíope (en griego, ‘la de la bella voz’); musa de la elocuencia, belleza y poesía épica (canción narrativa).
