Geography. 5.3 The student will investigate the relationship among people, places, ideas, and/or the environment and connect those relationships to contemporary issues. I would use this activity to help students get an idea of where they actually are in regards to the bigger idea that they live in a house, on a street, in a city, in a state, in a country and so on. This is helpful for students to actually get it so that it makes sense on their level.
Economics. 3.1 The student will recognize and evaluate significant beliefs, contributions, and ideas of the many diverse peoples and groups and their impact on individuals, communities, states, and nations. This anchor chart explains the different parts in an economic society. I would use this chart to show the students how these parts relate to the community and individuals.
