The Virgin and Child Reading a Prayer Book. Francesco Trevisani (Italian, 1656-1746). Oil on canvas. The Christ Child is sitting on a table with its head sleepily leaning against its mother’s shoulder. He is holding an apple and a small cross in its hands - the cross’ shadow is falling on its mother’s chest. A candle hidden behind a veil lights the scene from the left.

Eddard (Ned) Stark. Eddard Stark, also affectionately called "Ned", is the head of House Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and Warden of the North. He is a friend to King Robert Baratheon, whom he was raised with and helped to win the Iron Throne, and is eventually named his Hand. He is one of the major POV Character in the books. In the TV series, he is played by Sean Bean.
"You really want to know?" he asks quietly. And, I know. I shake my head and stare out my window at the gray Seattle day..."Hey." He reaches for my hand and kisses each of my knuckles in turn, and suddenly he's sucking my little finger, hard. Then biting it softly...He gives me a slow carnal smile. "Don't sweat it, Anastasia," he murmurs. "She's in the past." 102
