1685-1700 Dutch Frame at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York - From the curators' comments: "A tour de force of carver’s art, this frame, together with its pair (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam), was most likely made to display a marriage portrait, the unidentified coat of arms in the cresting referring to the sitter." However, it has since been fitted with glass and is displayed in the museum as a mirror.

Rosary Bead, early 16th century  South Netherlandish (Brabant)  Boxwood  Rosary beads, miniature altars, and other small devotional objects produced in Brabant in the early sixteenth century inspire awe by the detail and minuteness of their carving. Produced in relatively large numbers, these rosary beads were carved of many pieces of fine-grained boxwood.
