Pablo Medina, paintings inspired by hand-painted signage from the Mission District in San Francisco. Using the photos he took biking through the Mission, Pablo combined the hand-painted aesthetic with a phrase or sentence from his journal. The resulting paintings are both playful and raw, and at times quite personal.
Brianna: My artwork is about two girls that come from different ethnic groups, and they become best friends because they share a lot of things in common. Your friends can come from different cultural backgrounds, and it is good to learn about other cultures from them. You can be your true self with your friends. No matter what happens, friends stand up for each other and that is the beauty of having a true friend.
Sun Washed White Hydrangeas was my demonstration for the Richardson Texas Civic Arts Society. We had a full house and a video camera so the artist's palms were sweating just a bit!
