Tip 1: Establish multiple points of natural and artificial light. In this project, Mann utilized multiple natural light sources—a kitchen light well and pantry and dining room windows, in this case—to allow light into the kitchen at all times of day. Artificial light can also create that same kind of glow and balance. Space between the ceiling and cabinetry allowed the designer to incorporate hidden light fixtures above the cabinets to illuminate the area at night.
