I focus on capturing and highlighting the shapes, curves, texture, and movement of the flowers in your bouquet. This gives your frame a unique silhouette that will stay beautiful over the years as the colors of your flowers change. Bouquets with at least 6-8 different varieties of flowers work best to achieve my design style. WILL THE COLOR OF THE FLOWERS STAY THE SAME? No - nothing in nature stays the same forever. Pressing flowers preserve the color and vibrancy of blooms for as long as naturally possible. Still, this is an organic art form which means mother nature is going to do her thing. Some flowers retain their color and vibrancy much longer than others. Although the flowers themselves will last, overtime the colors gradually fade, even when out of direct sunlight. Flowers also surprise us by going in the press one color, and coming out of the press another color. I find this process particularly poetic and charming, which is why I do not artificially color enhance my work. I understand personal preference may vary. If you prefer that your wedding flowers stay the same color, you may want to consider looking for floral preservationists that specializes in "color correction" or "color enhancement", which involves using artificial coloring or paint on dried flowers. As an artist, I do not use this method in my work. TIMELINE AMD PROCESS It is critical that I receive your flowers 1-3 days after the wedding. Any longer would be risking the quality of the flowers for your frame. If you live near the Bay Area you have the option to drop off your flowers to me (in Antioch, 94531). Otherwise you will need to OVERNIGHT ship your flowers to me. Please note shipping your fresh flowers to me is an additional cost to you. Once received, your flowers will go in the press for up to 12 weeks. After it is pressed and dried, you will receive a picture of the design mock up for edits and approval along with the final invoice. The remaining balance must be paid fully before your frame is finalized and shipped. The entire process can take up to 16-20 weeks. GIFT REGISTRY OPTION: If you'd like to include bouquet preservation in your wedding gift registry, simply pay the deposit to reserve your date. Once the deposit is received, you'll get a link to the consultation form, where you can indicate your interest in the gift registry option. After confirmation, I'll create a separate custom listing with the full price of your chosen frame size for you to add to your online registry. The deposit is fully refundable to you if your frame is purchased from your gift registry within 2 weeks of your event. If the frame is not purchased, you may choose to pay for the frame yourself. If needed, you also have the option to select a different frame size that better suits your budget. If the frame is not purchased from your registry and you decide not to move forward with purchasing the frame yourself and it is within two weeks of your wedding, the deposit will not be returned. PICTURES, VOWS, INVITATIONS, etc. If you would like to add a picture, your written vows, or invitations as part of the frame design, I am happy to include it with no extra charge. You have the option to send copies with your flowers, or mail them to me at a later time. NERVOUS ABOUT HANDING YOUR FLOWERS TO A STRANGER? I get it. Your bridal bouquet is a reminder of the emotions, love, and celebration that surrounded you on your wedding, which is why you want to preserve it in the first place. I value a slow and meditative approach to this art form. Rest assured, I do not take it lightly that I'm handling someone's precious memories. I always keep this in mind as I take care of your flowers as I would my own.
