Taunton State Hospital Power House This is an early steam powered ammonia compressor/engine built by the Frick Company of Waynesboro, PA. Likely of early 20th century vintage. This may have been saved by an Industrial Museum in York, PA before demolition.

Dr John Langdon Haydon Down who classified what is now called Down's Syndrome in 1862. Born Cornwall. Aged 18, he came to London to work for a surgeon. He was interested in a connection between ethnicity and mental health, hence the initial term 'Mongoloid' for Down's syndrome. More recently the term has been found offensive both to those with the syndrome and their families, and to the Mongol people so the term Down's Syndrome is preferred.
James Bowman Lindsay (8 September 1799 - 29 June 1862) was a Scottish inventor and author. He is credited with early developments in several fields, such as incandescent lighting and telegraphy.
