#adobegallery - Casas Grandes Ramos Polychrome Effigy Vessel - Prior to the 1800s, it was believed that the ruins being excavated in Northern Mexico were those of the Aztec Indians. Further study by the late 1800s concluded that the spectacular ruins were directly ancestral to Pueblo people of the Greater Southwest. The large pueblo village of Paquimé was a trade center for trade with those people and those north of them, which is now New Mexico.
