Colloquially known as "Maxima's Stars", Princess Maxima of the Netherlands wore this circa 1890 tiara on her wedding day. The diamond stars, as you can see, are detachable to form brooches. 5 star pearls and diamond Tiara belonging to the Mountbatten family, through Princess Victoria of Hesse, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, who became Princess Louis of Battenberg. The Battenbergs anglicized to Mountbatten in 1884. Her second son, Lord Louis Mountbatten, offered it to his bride, Edwina, when they married.
