The Palawan bearcat (Arctictis binturong whitei) is endemic to the Philippine island of Palawan. It can grow to 4.6 ft. Generally docile but has sharp claws & teeth that can easily rip through flesh. Hangs by its strong prehensile tail. A nocturnal animal that inhabits thick vegetation in the lowland forests & camouflages itself in the forest canopy to escape predators. They eat fruits & small rodents & birds. Considered a pest by farmers because it preys upon poultry.
