Robert Wadlow (Feb. 22nd, 1918-July 15th, 1940). Robert Pershing Wadlow was known as The World's Tallest Man. At the time of his death, he stood an impressive 8'11" and wore a size 37AA shoe. Those who knew him say Robert was a friendly, bright, and warm person who charmed everyone he met. Unfortunately, he developed an infection from the leg braces he had to wear and died at the young age of 22.
Photo: Black Elk and Elk - Black Elk was involved in several battles with the U.S. cavalry. He participated, at about the age of twelve, in the Battle of Little Big Horn of 1876, and was injured in the Wounded Knee Massacre. He became a Medicine Man of the Oglala Sioux.
