Emmanuelle Haïm (1982) developed a regular activity as continuo player and musical assistant in a number of opera houses. Though nobody realized it at the time, she was also studying conducting. This activity naturally led her to conducting, thus realising a long-held dream. Her conducting debut was as unplanned as her turn toward the harpsichord.
