Bamboo basket chair, 1950 ~ It uses Kenmochi’s traditional Japanese bamboo basket weaving plans for the seat and back rest, and Noguchi’s idea for the base: a looping iron rod. The chair from a collaboration between the Japanese-American sculptor and designer Noguchi Isamu (野口 勇, 1904-1988) and the Japanese industrial designer Kenmochi Isamu (剣持 勇, 1912-1971), famous for his rattan chair design.
