Feather Reed Grass, 48-60". Gold variegated, green leaves with bright gold center. Wheat-like seed heads appear in early summer and last all season. Needs moisture in hot weather. Cut back to 6" in spring.

Plains oval sedge (Carex brevior) is a plant we ended up with by shear fluke. You don't hear about this plant a lot, but I think it deserves some recognition. I think it would be fantastic in a mass planting with alliums, salvias, etc.

Korean feather reed grass or diamond grass (Calamagrostis brachytricha) is a clump-forming, warm season grass with bright green leaves reaching about 2’. Non-invasive ornamental grass will tolerate all shade - have one side of my home this where this might work well. It is deer-resistant.
