This may be the city's first police car. It appears to be a Packard from around 1909 or 1910, the vintage purchased for the department by Frank Croul. The officer standing in the backseat is identified as Burton Girardin, grandfather of Ray Girardin, who was police commissioner in the 1960s. (The Detroit News) Album ID: 1370996 Photo ID: 39102393
