Alys Fowler was born in Silchester Hampshire, daughter of a Doctor and her mother ran a small holding with 200 chickens and also trained gun dogs. Her mother was a keen gardener and the whole family tried to be as self sufficient as possible. Alys was the youngest of 3 children, she has an older sister and brother.
