Proto-type is an event, where locally designed and made, affordable furniture and small-run publishing is available for sale over a weekend. It is a micro-industry of local design / making / selling / self-making / self-publishing. The idea is being developed by Paul Owen (Owen and Vokes and Peters) in collaboration with Dan Pike (The Letter D / Capital P).
Remake: The Design Awards exhibition is the culmination of the American Institute of Architects’ prestigious annual awards program. Designed to reflect and amplify the graphic design of the accompanying promotional literature, the 2010 exhibition system is incredibly simple and direct. The linear framework drawn from the print materials was re-interpreted as a series of physical lines that also act as shelves.
