#Houdini Smoke Glass Sphere Tutorial: A tutorial about creating a nice image based on simulating pyro FX in a glass sphere. We cover the sim part, the rendering part in Mantra and a simple comp in After effect. I hope you will enjoy it ! #Houdini #tutorial #pyro
Volume trails are a pretty cool tool in Houdini which can create abstract forms, but can also be controlled to build a very specific shape using vector volumes. In this tutorial we set up our custom vector volume using the tangents of a curve mix it with a 3D noise and calculate a cross product to build an interesting vortex structure.

A look at how to use particle streams to manage complex particle simulations. As usual a project file is available from http://sites.google.com/site/pqhoudinitutorial/ There are a couple of points in the video where the sound has problems - don't play at full volume!
In this tutorial we look at techniques to create interesting zero gravity liquid flip simulations using Houdini. NOTICE: Houdini 14 - Point wrangle syntax has changed. Put @ in front of global variables, and look out for errors.
Designed for artists that want to understand how fluid solvers work, senior mathematician Jeff Lait walks you through the process of creating both grid and particle-based fluid solvers from scratch. Focus is placed on the visual effect of the various microsolvers, not the mathematics, in the hopes of demystifying what is often treated as an impenetrable black box.
