F.R.E.S.H. Book Festival 2024
As always, the F.R.E.S.H. embraces literacy, promotes arts of all kinds, and encourages youth. In addition to presentations by authors and classes on publishing, promoting, film-making, the students of Palm Terrace Elementary School presented “Being Yourself”, sang, danced and featured a drumline. Its Principal, Karen Troutman and her staff were presented the “Literacy is a Legacy Award” by Daytona Beach City Commissioner, Paula Reed. Mike also had the pleasure of donating two copies of “Charlie y Lili – de paseo por los Estados Unidos,” written by Leonor Sierra and published by Armstrong Media Group, LLC, to the school for its Spanish speaking students.

Working with my editor in Spain
In the last three weeks, much progress has been made in the editing and polishing of Mike Pyle’s new novel. Mike worked with his editor, Leonor Sierra Salas, at the home of Leonor and her husband, Pepe. They live in quaint and beautiful, small town at the outskirts of Sevilla, Spain. The area is surrounded by a huge environmentally protected area that runs all the way to the sea, called Doñana. Besides wonderful rivers, vegetation, old bridges and homes, the preserve contains many dirt roads, bike paths, and areas for camping and picnics and farmland, where carrots, greens, strawberries and oranges are grown.
