Unit 1 -1.1 & 2.1 - 2.3, 3.1- 3.3 I have experimented with pastels, water colours and pencils. The water colours and pastels are great for blending tones together and shading as you can create softer tones to blend and transition colours. They are not so good for creating hard , bold sold blocks of one color.

Unit 1 -1.1 & 2.1 - 2.3 These are the mobiles that I saw in the centre and gave me inspiration of the design for my natural material badges that could be pinned to clothing or bags ect. I researched the shape design and texture of small birds to help me further with the design of my idea.

Unit 4 1.3 Develop ideas using appropriate visual language 1.4 Present ideas for chosen 3D work - I have developed a more detailed shape of a bird similar to the bold outline of the art print that I researched. I have experimented with glue and pins to make the distinguishable bird shape into a badge.

Unit 4 2.1 Plan work using 3D techniques 2.2 Produce work to a 3D design brief 2.3 Present final work for a 3D design brief I have finalised the detail of the shape of the wood that I want to cut out to make the basic badge. I have chosen a good strong wood glue and badge pin to fix to the shape and decided to use a more detailed mature art design to emphasise the bird design that was originally influenced by in the art print found online.

Unit 4 3.1 Make suggestions to develop or improve work 3.2 Contribute to formal discussions of ideas and opinions Over all I am really very please with my final 3D art work. I think the badges are great and suitable for most ages. I think I could improve them by applying a varnish to seal in the paints and make them more weather proof. I could also make more different designs and colours. I would like to try to do some really detailed designs with more technical outline detail as well.

Unit 4 1.1 - 1.3 I have been researching ideas to make badges out of natural materials. I have seen some wooden mobiles made by other learners in the centre and thought what amazing badges they could make. I found this print particularly interesting because of the bold blue stepping out the shape of the birds and at the same time drawing attention to detail of the designs within the bird drawings. I particularly like how the artist has managed to emphasise the outline shape of the…
