COOL! The universe has its secrets. Extra dimensions of space might be one of them. If so, the universe has been hiding those dimensions, protecting them, keeping them coyly under wraps. From a casual glance, you would never suspect a thing. It's hubris to think that the way we see things is everything there is. -Lisa Randall, theoretical physicist via She Sings to the Stars

Educated in Mexico City and San Francisco, painter Octavio Ocampo works primarily in the metamorphic style - using a technique of superimposing and juxtaposing realistic and figurative details within the images that he creates. This image relies on negative space to create two coexisting images. Is it a group of birds, a woman's face, or both? (Images courtesy of Visions Fine Arts Gallery: http://www.visionsfineart.com)

Ukrainian artist Oleg Shuplyak masters the optical illusion in his incredible scenic oil paintings. Through strategically placed characters, objects and coloring, Shuplyak's surrealist works depict historical famous figures, including Darwin, Van Gogh and Shakespeare. Shuplyak makes the second image so easily recognizable in many of his paintings, that observers might miss the original image. from: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/22/oleg-shuplyak-optical-illusions_n_1165746.html
