A fantastic ivory cane of a nude in an elaborate marsh and garden scene. The ivory handle, fashioned in bec de corbin configuration, is carved with owner initials: "G.L.". It is 4 1/2" high and 2" at its widest and it features a nude maiden who seems to be peering into a window. It is fraught with symbolism. There are standing cranes, a monkey's face, a standing elephant, and of course, a slithering snake. (Is it Eve in the exotic Garden of Eden? It is perhaps Continental, ca 1890
