The Pietà is one of the most beautiful and moving statues you will ever see - the famous one in the Vatican is by Michelangelo but the photo above isn't of that statue. In keeping with Holy Week, I present Michelangelo's "Pieta". This is truly a beautiful and moving piece of art. I was fortunate to have seen it in person when I was a child - about 10 or 11 I think. It was at the Vatican Pavillion at the World's Fair in New York in the 1960s. Even at that young age I could see that this was something out of the ordinary.
