We have a small yard, so utilizing space and making the most of what we have is the goal. Painted checker board and tic tac toe on picnic table. Painted rocks like lady bugs and bumblebees for pieces. Now 2 more games for kids to play outside.

A 98.00 unfinished picnic table from LOWES turned beautiful in 3 easy steps. 1. Sand 2. Stain the top and benches 3. Paint the rest. I used weather proof stain and paint from Home Depot

Picnic table with runner. We planned to paint it all blue, but when we stood it up after painting the underside, we really liked the natural weathered wood look with the blue, so we just painted a runner on top instead. That was the easy part! (Please see the next photo for instructions). We sanded the sides and top of the table smooth and paint-free to display the natural wood. On the seats, we left the paint on the sides.

How to refinish an old wooden picnic table & make it look new again.

I had the idea to turn my absolutely normal picnic table into a work of art. So I stained all the legs a dark walnut stain added exterior sky blue paint to the tops and then decided to throw in a hummingbird in a few flowers in the corner. I love this project!
