⬇️ Here’s why you should use all 3 of these tips when paint washing your furniture for a winning finish 🥇 ⬇️

1️⃣ Make sure your wood 🪵 is stripped back to bare wood and beautifully smooth ♥️ before applying any paint wash ✅

After removing all of the old varnish or stain, smooth off with a high grit sandpaper 120/240 grit or ultra fine sanding fleece. This will help for a more smoother to touch finish 🫳

These steps can make such a big difference on the over all finish ⬆️🙌🙌

2️⃣ paint wash in sections

Paint on the paint wash ( 70% water 💦 30% paint 🎨 ) and wipe straight back off . If you want to neutralize red tones in wood, do a 1:10 green wash (1 part green paint, 10 parts water). Mix the two and wipe it on. Do not wipe off. Let it dry completely. Then test it with a damp cloth and see if the undertones are where you want. If not, apply the wash again and let dry. Once you have it toned down, you can add your preferred paint wash (taupe, beige, black, the options are endless). Apply the wash with a cloth or brush and let it dry. Apply until you reach your desired wood color.
