Today, we remember those, both human and canine, who have fought for our freedom. After serving his country with the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan, retired military dog Cpl. Asur found a home stateside with Hounds and Heroes founder Bonnie-Jill Laflin and her family. As a bomb-sniffing military working dog, the German Shepherd became disabled when he lost his sight. Asur’s new post-military life and story has been featured in the media. He inspired our popular Soldier design.
