The Vomeronasal Organ can be seen as epithelial structures found bilaterally in the mucosa of the nasal septum in mammals or in the buccal cavity of reptiles. It was named the Jacobson’s Organ after Danish physician Ludwig Levin Jacobson first discovered and described the Organ in nonhuman mammals.
