Hyperthyroidism is a condition characterized by the overproduction of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland, leading to an acceleration of the body's metabolism.

When your thyroid is underactive, it isn’t making enough thyroid hormones. Many processes in your body can slow down as a result. When your thyroid is overactive, it’s making too much thyroid hormone and can speed some of your body’s processes up. It’s much less common than hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism affects various body functions, leading to significant symptoms. Proper diagnosis and treatment with thyroid hormone replacement can manage the condition effectively.
