Keith Albee Theatre, Huntington, WV.

The Keith-Albee opened on May 8, 1928. The theatre was constructed by the talented architect Thomas W. Lamb. At that time, it was second in size in the United States to the Roxy Theatre in New York City. At first, the theatre offered vaudeville acts with local performers of A.B. and S.J. Hyman. The theatre survived a major flood in 1937. Downtown Huntington Historic District NRHP Reference#: 86000309, 07000240

Guyandotte WV: Madie Carroll Home

This house was built in Gallipolis Ohio. Local tradition has it that a local tradesman purchased the house and had it floated down the Ohio to the new town of Guyandotte in 1810. It served as an Inn from time to time. A local story holds that when the railroad builder Collis P Huntington came to town surveying for his new C&O Railroad he stayed at this Inn. While there, his horse broke it's tether and walked down the wooden sidewalks. The City Fathers fined Huntington for this infraction…
