Illustration showing succession of golden rectangles that are used to construct the golden spiral. Two quantities are considered to be in the golden ratio if (a+ b)/a = a/b which is represented by the Greek letter phi. Each rectangle shown is subdivided into smaller golden rectangles. The golden spiral is a special type of logarithmic spiral. Each part is similar to smaller and larger parts. November 23 is Fibonacci Day, an annual holiday that respects one of the most powerful mathematicians of the Middle Ages - Leonardo Bonacci. Otherwise called Leonardo of Pisa, he is famously known as Leonardo Fibonacci. Fibonacci Day perceives the significance of the Fibonacci sequence (or Fibonacci numbers) in mathematics and our regular daily lives. Fibonacci

Description A piece of art basted on the Fibonacci Spiral. The shape was drafted out in 6H pencil. The design was then drawn/painted with watercolour pencils. This design was drawn on 300g/m2 watercolour paper. And I have made it in to a birthday card for my mum. Let me know what you think. (nb: the colours are not exact representations of the original unfortunately due to my scanner)

Sacred geometric shapes and symbols all use mathematical patterns and ratios that are deeply ingrained in our DNA and human subconscious. The golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence are prime examples of mathematical formulas represented in all sacred geometry. These formulas come from the universal laws of mathematics and physics that dictate the creation of the planets, galaxies, and the universe. Sacred geometry is present from the ‘micro level’ of molecular structures, to the ‘macro…
