Good light at the top of Catbells, Skiddaw, Derwent Water and the town of Keswick all nicely in view. Talking to Rob on the way up Cat Bells I mentioned that I'd read somewhere that Cat Bells is an easy climb, suitable for grandmothers.. Rob poo pooed this. As I reached the top I saw only three people, a young lady and what I presumed to be her mother and father. This trail takes in a spectacular and popular circular around Hawes End, Cat Bells, and Derwent Water where your efforts will be rewarded with great views on a clear day. Parking cars on busy days can be very difficult so be prepared to find alternatives or come early to avoid disappointment. Please do not obstruct through traffic and entrances along the narrow lanes.
