Beth Wilson on Instagram: "FITTED UNIT IKEA HACK 🚪 our fitted unit hack is finally finished! we wanted built in units in our lounge but didn’t fancy paying the expensive price tag that is associated with it, so decided to give it a go ourselves using @ikeauk units and doors, some wood and MDF. we used the PLATSA units and got some extendable legs from @bandq_uk to raise the unit high enough off the ground. we also cut some of the unit out to make sure we can still reach the plugs at the back of the wall. once it was in place, we cut wood and mdf to size to box the units in and give it the ‘fitted’ look. we used mdf sheet for the top of the unit, and then painted and primed it all to finish it in white ✨ we were kindly gifted the beautiful Piccadilly Knurled Cupboard Knobs from @frela Built In Tv Unit Ikea Hack, Built In Storage Wall Ikea, Ikea Built In Cupboards, Ikea Hack Shelves Wall, Built In Mdf Shelves, Ikea Storage Ideas Wall Units, Ikea Cupboards Living Room, Shelves In Cupboard, Make Storage Ideas

Anyway, this is what we paid.. ✨ £495 for the carpenter. Holly Woodcock on Instagram: "Soooo pleased with how the living room has turned out now we’ve finished building the alcove cupboards A bit more info on them as I’ve had so many replies to my stories asking for more… ✨ They’re from @jalidesign and are made bespoke ✨ I used the Jali online design tool to design both - it’s so easy (and fun!) to use and you can design pretty much any piece of furniture for any space, either built in or standalone ✨ It’s as easy as following the (clear) instructions to build (as easy as Ikea furniture) and then fixing to the wall, caulking and painting to finish ✨ I can’t stress enough however how important accurate measuring is though. This is my current view as I sit with a cup of tea, a good book and a very sleepy puppy ☺️☕️ I get lots of questions about the media unit in the living room - we had the unit built bespoke by a local carpenter and then painted it in F&B Treron (colour matched with Brewer’s paint) 💚 The cupboard handles are from @ah_brass and our tv size is 65’ I’m so glad I went with the bold colour! Hannah Briggs on Instagram: "HOW WE BUILT IN ALCOVE UNITS ✨💞 What do you think?! 👇🏻 Obsessed with how these turned out one year on! 🤭 We still want to add LED lighting on the shelves to make it more into a media wall but in pretty pleased with it! We basically bought two IKEA sideboards from the IDANAS range, along with some MDF board and furniture board that we had cut down at B&Q for an easier fit! We then sanded, primed and painted 🎨 before nail gunning in. Little hack 💡 take a piece of the sideboard with you such as the cupboard door, and get B&Q to paint match it for you. Trust me, it’s worth doing!!
