Art Room Sinks: Soapy water goes in the plastic bin. Students gently place paintbrushes in at clean up. Larger basket beneath is for paint cups or palettes. To the left (outside this view) is the hand sink, where they wipe and dry their painty hands after dropping off messy materials at clean up.

My room design has changed since the pandemic, but scroll down to see our typical set up. We have a great art space! Putting an art room together can be a great way to teach design - elements of visual excitement and visual rest should be balanced and organized in an effective way. Function is important - your room can be a living example of how design is important in our world. A busy day in the art room - 40 full shelves!

Notes: Like the child-size sink area. It is very thoughtful set up with the mirror/sink to create personal awareness for the child. Do not like the idea of having the sink in the bathroom area. Having it in the classroom space is better for visibility, and can be used for art activities as well as bathroom functions.
