paper cut out people sitting on top of a wooden table

We have been in school for almost a month. (I can't believe it either!) So far, this is the BEST year yet! My kids love art and I love teaching through the arts. I am always on the look-out for amazing art resources to use with my kiddos, but they are hard to come by. This summer, I found an incredible resource that was created by Whimsy Workshop. She does ALL of the work for you! There are background information sheets for each type of art that she includes. There are 3 art projects for…

I have cut them into different shapes such as the flower petals seen here. Also using a clothes pin to pinch a small strip of sponge between will create an interesting rectangular shape when stamped. -Color Defusing paper is a MUST! They love to watch the colors spread and the designs are very exciting. -Liquid…

four handprints with different colors and designs on them, all in the same square

This is a great project for preschool, Pre-K, or adaptive art. it took about 3-4 hours to complete (broken up into 30 minute sessions). In my current school, I have 3 and 4 year olds. With 3 year olds, they needed help tracing and cutting out their hands. the 4 year olds had no problem! Some things we discussed and learned about were: Colors Tracing Gluing Cutting Coloring (outlining and coloring without scribbling- and doing so in the same direction to cover the entire square) What a "print…

a poster with the words teaching art students with special needs and paintbrushes on it

The most important thing to keep in mind when planning to meet the needs of students is that they are all unique individuals with unique needs. The diversity in human beings is beautiful. It is worth celebrating. Unfortunately, I don’t think teachers get enough training in teacher prep programs or
