Arte de mudejar representa la fusion de dos tradiciones artisticas, islamica y cristiana. The Moors reclaimed their lost land from Christians in the 12th century. They allowed the Moors to remain on the reconquered lands and keep their own culture and religion. Islamic art fascinated the Christians, who continued using its themes for a long time. Within their territory, the easily available materials were brick, lime, ceramics, and timber, which were also economical in use.
