My grandad had this memorized and made us look for specific colored twist ties when we shopped with him. It drove us crazy at the time, but he always had fresh bread. I sure do miss that man.

Bread tags actually mean something - if you want to know how fresh the bread is in your grocery store, look at the tie that is holding the wrapper closed. Bread is delivered five days a week, Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the bread maker puts a different colored tie on to designate which day of the week the bread was baked: Monday - Blue. Who knew?! Tuesday - Green Thursday - Red Friday - White Saturday - Yellow

Breadstick Bones

Breadstick Bones.... I do this but they don't look so good all the time. Mine are bigger though, maybe make 1/2 the size.

How to Get the Freshest Loaf of Bread: I turns out that bread clips and twist ties are color coded according to the day the bread was baked. (And the names of the colors are in alphabetical order!) Hah! #Bread #Shopping

Did You Know...

I always look at the tie and then the expiration date to get the freshest bread. Dig loaves out from the back also. Go by the first letter of the tag color. Monday is B (blue) tuesday G (green) Wed. R(red) the later in the week-the deeper in the alphabet you go.
